Lincoln— January 24 — A presentation by Gary White, president of the American Iris Society, on “Peonies” will highlight the February 12th meeting of the Garden Club of Lincoln. 

Gary’s interest in peonies has been a life-long passion. His mother grew peonies, calling them “pynies” back in Appalachia He started collecting these fabulous plants in West Virginia. He continued to acquire them after moving to Nebraska in 1993 and currently has more than 80 varieties on 2+ acres. Now retired after 35 years as a hospital pharmacists, he is able to devote more time to his horticultural pursuits. Gary is active in the Lincoln Iris Society and currently serves as president of the American Iris Society.

Please join us for this informative program. Our meeting will begin at 7:00 pm and is open to the public. Refreshments will be served before and after the presentation.

The Garden Club of Lincoln meeting is scheduled at Culler Middle School (52nd and Vine Streets). Public is invited; there is no charge. Enter through the southwest door and proceed to the school cafeteria.
