Fun ways to get active outdoors.

Fresh air, sunny skies – great weather is naturally tempting. Why not give in, get outside and get moving? Regular activity may help you live longer and may head off a host of diseases. It can also boost your mood and help control your weight. Here are a few ideas to help get you started:

• Walking. Start with a walk around the neighborhood. If you’re feeling adventurous, try a nearby nature trail.

• Biking. It’s great for the heart and easy on the knees. Don’t forget your helmet!

• Bean bag toss. Gather a few friends or relatives, pick your teams and enjoy.

• Garden. You don’t need to dig a whole plot. Try a few planters. Or join a community garden.

You don’t have to run a marathon to get fit. Even 5 to 10 minutes here and there helps. Just choose an activity you enjoy and get moving.
