New Season – Lincoln Community Playhouse

Lincoln Community Playhouse revealed the Season 72 slate of plays. The season is filled with Playhouse premieres, said Executive Director Morrie Enders.
The season includes:
Fox on the Fairway by Ken Ludwig. July 28-30, August 4-6, 2017. A farce centered on the rivalry between adjoining golf courses. Playhouse premiere.
Camelot by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Lowe. September 15-17, 21-24, 2017. The classic musical about King Arthur and the romance of Camelot.
The Hundred Dresses adapted by Mary Hall Surface from the book by Eleanor Estes. October 20-22, 27-29, 2017.  When an immigrant family arrives in an American small town in the 1930
s, lessons are learned about bullying and understanding. Playhouse premiere.
Ethan Claymore by Norm Foster. November 10-12, 17-19, 2017. A romantic comedy about a reclusive Canadian egg farmer finding love around the holiday season. Lincoln premiere.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson. December 8-10, 15-17, 2017. When the wild Herdman kids take over the annual church Christmas pageant, a miracle is needed.
Disney The Lion King Experience, Jr. by Elton John and Tim Rice. March 1-4, 8-11, 2018. Simba learns about the circle of life among the creatures of the grasslands in this youth version of the Broadway blockbuster. Lincoln premiere.
Penguin Project: The Music Man Jr. by Meredith Willson and Franklin Lacey. June 8-10, 15-17, 2018. Our acclaimed Penguin Project becomes part of our season with this musical comedy about Harold Hill
s attempt to sell a boys band to River City.
Two of the premiere shows are still to be revealed. Lincoln Community Playhouse is one of six community theatres in the country to premiere one of the winning scripts from the American Association of Community Theatre New Play Festival selection. The play selection will be announced on May 1. This world premiere will be performed January 19-21, 26-28, 2018.
The final musical of the season also remains a mystery.
We were given the rights to a newly released show but cant announce the title until November 2017, Enders said, But be assured it is one of Broadways biggest hits and our audiences will be standing in the aisles dancing to some legendary music. This Playhouse premiere will be performed April 27-29, May 4-6 and May 11-13, 2018.
